On his way

Well, last night as I was getting Austin ready for bed he was standing at the potty and saying, "pee pee" so I asked if he wanted to use the potty. He said "k" and shook his head yes. I quickly stripped him down and put him on the potty. After about two minutes he went potty! He was so proud of himself. I told Brandon and he got really excited. However, we decided that we weren't going to push him to potty train yet because he isn't even a year and a half.

This morning I got him up, changed his diaper and then took him into our room. I put him on the bed and he started grabbing himself, sorry for that detail, but that is how he is showing that he is becoming aware of what is going on down there. I asked him if he wanted to use the potty and he said, "k" again and shook his head. I whisked him away and quickly stripped him down, put him on the potty and he didn't do anything, which is totally fine.

Later we were downstairs in the living room and the door to the bathroom was closed he walked over to it and said "pee." I opened the door and he used the potty again! I was so proud of him. I am not saying he is potty training, or that we are going to start but at least he is showing interest and understands what the potty is for. Who knows, this might continue and he will be potty trained by the end of the summer, however, I doubt that.

Big Boy Bed!

Well, we made the switch, Austin is now in a big boy bed. We pulled the side off of his crib just to see how he would do. Our doctor told us to switch him before 18 months so that it is easier for him since he doesn't know how to open doors.

The first night was so easy. He never climbed out the bed and never fell out. The second night also went great. Last night he fell out like 4 times! I think that the funniest part is that he can easily climb in and out of the bed but he will sit in the bed and cry to be taken out. He won't climb out at all! We will see how long that lasts. He doesn't even get out and play in his ball tent, which we can't seem to keep him out of.

Every night we have been going on a walk as a family. Austin eats, gets a bath, all ready for bed, and then we go on a walk. Don't you just love the stuffed animal? He just has to bring his dog with him.

Sitting on the floor watching Daddy! This is a normal occurrence in our house. Austin will just snuggle up on Daddy and watch whatever he is doing.
